As the great philospher Kool Moe Dee once said, “How ya like me now?!?!?”
I was certainly surprised that the Miami Dolphins beat the Patriots in New England, but lets face it, it was against a Tom Brady-less Patriots team. Plus any team can get lucky and pull off the upset. So as a Dolphin fan, I was excited about the win, but anxious to see how they would come out of that bye week vs L.T. and the San Diego Chargers.
Well I got my questions answered and then some. Its amazing that this is the same group of players that got the brakes beat off of them a few weeks earlier in Arizona. That must have been one hell of a film session in the days following that ass whippin’. When was the last time you saw a Dolphins defense swarm and attack the ball like they did?
I almost couldn’t believe my eyes! And yeah ya boy L.T. is a little banged up with that toe and all but damn it, he’s still L.T. and the Fins got in his ass too. They completely shut the Chargers’ powerful offense down!
And what else can you say about Ronnie Brown? After the win over the Pats, people were saying “it was a fluke”, and I was inclined to believe them. Only because he’d just done something that had only been done once in NFL history, when cats used to hit the field looking like this…
Wow, buddy didn’t even rock a face mask lol but I digress. Ronnie ran for 4 td’s and threw for another. that just doesn’t happen anymore. So everyone’s question was “can he follow it up?”
You damn right he can!!!
The Wildcat offense was let loose on the Bolts and the Dolphins pounded them with the run. But they also sprinkled in a really nice, short passing game. Chad Pennington has a weak arm, but the Fins don’t really have a deep threat. So these 5-15 yard passes are just what the Dr. ordered for Pennington and his pedestrianarm. Right now, I’m loving the Ronnie/Ricky combo and I’m expecting Ricky to have his bust out game pretty soon.
So, the Dolphins are 2-2 and have defeated the 2 teams who played to rep the AFC in the Super Bowl last season. they’re on the road this week against the Houston Texans, who just lost a heart breaker to the Colts. If you haven’t seen the highlights, just youtube Sage Rosenfels to see how this dude just ruined what could have been a great win for that team and that region, after Hurricane Ike. They always say you can’t win a game by yourself, well Sage showed how you can damn sure lose a game on your own. But back to the Fins. Vegas odds-makers still aren’t showing the Dolphins any respect as they go on the road and battle the 0-4 Texans. If the Fins have truly taken that next step, they should win this game. But its the NFL and anyone can beat anybody, once they get on that field.
My prediction? Dolphins 20 – Texans 10. I think Huston comes out strong, but Miami’s defense makes a big play and the Fins take these boys out to win their 3rd straight game.
