Break out the Champagne!!!

What a performance the other night!!! I had been waiting on the Celtics to put it all together. They hadn’t had everything clicking on all cylinders in any of their playoff games until last night. What an incredible ass whippin’ they put on the Lakers. Led by KG coming out to avenge his terrible game 5. There was some harsh criticism of him after that game and throughout his career. It was great to watch him finally become a champion and play a big role in the biggest blowout ever in a clinching game. Was there any doubt that The Big Ticket was going to come out and take over this game?  This was one of the greatest defensive performances I’ve ever seen. The Lakers looked like they knew they didn’t have a chance. Hell they shot the lights out in the 1st quarter and were still trailing! Boston’s defense turned Kobe into a jump shooter and Kobe’s teammates never stepped up the entire series. By no means am I letting his ass off the hook though. I’ll get on Kobe’s case later. Lamar Odom finally started driving hard to the basket when they were down 30. You gotta be down 30 to play hard? F*ckin’ Scrub lol

Lets talk about these Celtics man!
 ray and kg

Ray Allen’s baby boy took ill over the weekend and he remained in L.A. with his son in the hospital. He didn’t fly into Boston until yesterday morning. With no sleep and his son’s health on his mind, this guy goes out and hits 7 three pointers, tying a finals record. He had lost his shooting touch during the playoffs and the fans almost turned on him. But he showed he’s a true professional and kept working hard. Doc Rivers & his team did a great job of keeping us confidence up and it paid off. If not for Paul Pierce, this man would have been the MVP. Another perennial All-Star who can finally say he’s a champion. Allen had to make the biggest sacrifice of the Big 3 coming in andhe did it because he wanted a ring more than anything else. Can somebody explain to me what kind of defense Sasha Vujacic was playing? Just curious….

What the hell was up with Rajon Rondo??? That dude came to play in game 6. He set the tone early pushing the ball and he was a terror on the defensive end. Taking people’s cookies left and right. He was the question mark for this team all season. When they brought in Sam Cassell, a lot of people figured his days as the starter were numbered. But dude went out and continued to get better. What a bright future the Celtics have if this kid ever starts hitting jumpshots!
 bench

What about the Celtics bench? James Posey and Eddie House took over the 2nd qtr. This was supposed to be a disadvantage for the Celtics and it turned out to be the reason why they won this series. Every player Doc inserted into the game stepped up and performed. Don’t you feel good for PJ Brown? Long time veteran who finally gets a chance to be called a champion.

Last but not least, give it up for Paul Pierce. He showed that he is truly one of the elite ballers in the NBA. Not just a scorer, he can defend, and as witnessed last night, he can pass too. He had an off night shooting but he had 10 assists and was a leader in every sense of the word. You can see the confidence his team has in him and vice versa. He was the best player in this series hands down! I was extremely impressed by his skill and determination. 10 long years and he was on the Celtics when they had the worst record last year and was almost traded. To go from worst to first is truly remarkable and Pierce’s name needs to be mentioned with the Lebron’s and Kobe’s of the league. Excellent team effort by the Celtics and do not be surprised if they win another or at least get back to the finals. Defense wins championships and you saw that from them all season.

For Kobe, I’m sure this was a bitter pill to swallow. I saw the tears coming down as he congratulated the Celtics players (heehee). I hope after this Kobe sees how fortunate he is to have won 3 times. I was really upset with his ass after they beat the spurs. He’s on the podium saying “this is a dream come true”. Dude, understand that there are legends of this game who never even got a chance to play for a ring and you have 3 of them. Look at how emotional KG and these other guys were. They’ve been in the league 10 or more years and this was their 1st time even getting an opportunity to play for a title. It took Sam Cassell 13 years to get back to this point. I don’t think these young Lakers really understand how hard it is to get to this level and when you reach that level, you MUST take advantage of your opportunity. You might not get another one. Kobe knows what the top feels like and I think as a leader, he didn’t do a good enough job of conveying the importance of this moment to his young teammates. He had an incredible season and he was definitely my choice for MVP, but the Lakers are not championship ready yet. Great regular season, but their young guys have to learn that its a different ball game in the finals. Good learning experience for them and they’ll be back next year if Bynum can get healthy. The Boston Celtics are World Champs and if the Big 3 can remain healthy, they’ll have an excellent chance to repeat. One last time for the Big 3…

 Next up…NBA Draft!!!!
